Fisherwick Lakes in the heart of Whittington, Lichfield.
"A carp so big she couldn't lift it herself"
There was a girl from Lichfield called "Rosie Instone" who showed great passion for specimen fishing when she landed a heavy, hard hitting 23lb mirror carp on the specimen lake. When she landed the fish and got it on the bank, her dad had to come and help her lift it because the fish was to big for herto lift on her own.
Fisherwick lakes is a very good place to go because you have got more than one lake to fish on and for 5quid for one rod and 6quid for two you can't go wrong. for the hole year i think its 60quid but fisherwick has never failed me on one day.
It has seven lakes and pools which all have there own different fish in it, and they all vary in size from little tiddlers upto the biggest which i think was caught last year at 32lb in the specimen lake.
There is a pool called triangle pool because its in the shape of a triangle, and that is where i caught my first biggest carp which weighed just over 10lb and that was on floating japanese pellets 5mm. I would tell you what they were but a man give them me because he didn't want them and he said to try these off the surface of the water. the hole packet was japanese you couldn't understand nothing and it was in a red and white packet with gold writing. I chucked a couple out and i put a weighted float on and my hook lenght was about 3ft away from the float, and BOOM the common carp came up and took mine straight away and that gave me a good fight.
